Volunteer Centre (Glossop)

Volunteer Centre Glossop is a charitable organisation. It was established to enhance the quality of life for the people of Glossop and the High Peak by promoting the value of volunteering and ensuring that volunteer opportunities are available for all. It is committed to providing ongoing support for volunteers and the organisations they volunteer with.

The Centre also works to identify the unmet social and/or economic needs of the community and to establish projects to meet those needs with a commitment to those projects becoming independent.

Services include:

- Car Share Scheme. Volunteer drivers that help people with disabilities, older people, people with learning disabilities and those with mental health problems to attend medical and similar appointments.

- Time Out Service. Weekday service for the elderly and disabled people enabling them to get out of the house.

- Talking Newstape. For distribution to blind or partially sighted listeners.
