Eligibility information

Referral route:

GP, school nurse, ENT consultant, Speech and language therapists, teachers of the deaf, paediatrians, health visitors, nursery nurses.

Transition arrangments:

We have a transition protocol. Shortly prior to transition, we will see the child in Children's Audiology where we will issue them with our transition leaflet. We will also accompany them to the Audit Audiology Service to familiarise themselves with the service. Audit Audiology will then list them onto their 'transition cupboard waiting list' where they will see the child 12 months after transition for a routine hearing assessment. We also liaise closely with Derby City and Derbyshire County Council where Teachers of the Deaf will provide educational support and advice regarding transition.
