Add to favourites Back to the A-Z list Young Persons Specialist Services (YPSS) We offer specialist mental health assessments, interventions, consultation and training from our base in Derby and across Southern Derbyshire. We work with core partners in the Youth Offending Service, Social Care, Housing, schools/colleges, Multi Agency Teams, Social Care and other service providers. Our core business includes assessment and treatment of Mental Health difficulties in young people aged 16 to 18 years. Young people are seen within 6 weeks of referral unless they require urgent assessment when they are seen sooner. We offer many different interventions, therapy and support tailored to individual circumstances and disorders. We pride ourselves in the integration of a youth work model that sits alongside the specialist interventions to support the development of the young persons self identity and build on their social skills. Our team is multi-disciplinary including Nurses, Consultant Psychiatry, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Youth Workers and Therapists. Eligibility information Eligibility: This service is for young people and their carers/family members where the young person is experiencing problems relating to their mental health or associated behaviours. Referral route: Self referral, GP's and other agencies involved with the young person. Transition arrangements: We work collaboratively with the young person, family and supporting agencies. Discharge/transfer will be coordinated following a review/multi agency meeting. Transfer to adult mental health services and other adult providers often begins 6 months prior to the young person's 18th birthday.
