Derbyshire's Local Offer

Find out about a range of services and support for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

Our Local Offer includes information on:

  • schools and colleges (specialist and mainstream)
  • childcare and education for the early years (ages 0 − 5)
  • transport to and from education including early years
  • health services and support
  • support for families
  • preparing for adulthood (including housing, training and apprenticeships)
  • things to do and places to go
  • information and advice.

You can use the searches on this site to find the services you need and find out where you can get further support and advice.

As well as telling you about the services that are available, we can also tell you how to access them and whether there are any special criteria for them.

We've developed this information with the help of parents, carers, children and young people, but it doesn't stop here. We'll continue to develop and improve our Local Offer. To do this your views are important. Please let us know what you think about Derbyshire's Local Offer.

If you know someone who doesn't have access to the internet, please encourage them to visit their local library, where staff can help them to use the computers to access the Local Offer. Or, they can contact Call Derbyshire (opens in a new window) and speak to an adviser to help them:

Special educational needs and disabilities needs assessment

SEND needs assessment identifies the needs of children and young people with SEND and their families in Derbyshire.

The needs assessment brings together a range of data and information about the number of children and young people in Derbyshire with SEND, their needs and how they are being supported to achieve their potential.
