SEND local area inspection

We will be inspected in the week commencing 14 November 2016.

This will be an excellent opportunity to celebrate our strengths in Derbyshire, as well as to gain external feedback to help our learning and development.

The inspection will focus on how well the local area identifies children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, how well it meets their needs and what outcomes are achieved. This is an inspection of the local area and how effectively education, health and social care work together to achieve this.

The inspection team will include an Her Majesty's Inspector (HMI), an Ofsted inspector and two CQC inspectors. The inspection will take place between Monday 14 November and Thursday 17 November 2016, with a feedback meeting on Friday 18 November 2016. The inspection team will visit a number of schools, early years settings and colleges.

Engagement with parents, carers and young people will be a central theme of the inspection. There will be a range of ways in which young people, parents and carers can feed in views. Derbyshire Parent Carer Voice is leading on the engagement of parents and carers. Parents, carers and young people can:

  1. Take part in a webinar (opens in a new window) at 6.30pm on Wednesday 16 November 2016.
  2. Contact Derbyshire Parent Carer Voice to pass on any views you wish to contribute to the inspection process, email:
