Each child learns in different ways.

To help parents provide a suitable education, we have included a wide range of resources which could be used to support your child’s progress. These can be used to develop learning – enabling each child to apply ongoing knowledge, skills and understanding. There is no requirement to use these resources; they are simply included to help you decide what may be best for your child.

Resources include:

  • Textbooks
  • Exercise books
  • Visits and outings
  • Interactive IT apps
  • Computer research
  • Practical equipment
  • TV and radio programmes
  • Social and wellbeing activities

The list is not comprehensive and not endorsed by Derbyshire County Council – they are there as mere suggestions and ideas, most of which are free. You may find it easier to choose a few and see how they work for your child – and then try others to find the most effective. It is up to you to decide which, if any, to use – remembering internet issues when accessing online links and the importance of e-safety.

There are additional resources included in the ‘EHE resource pack for 5 to 11 year olds’ which may, in some cases, be more appropriate to your child’s individual ability and aptitude.
