Every local offer website has a duty to provide a range of activities, leisure facilities and short breaks to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) and their families/carers. This section of the site includes events, activities and leisure facilities which are available in Derbyshire. In this section, you will also find the Framework of Providers which also details activity providers which have been quality checked.

Whilst considering which activity you may wish to plan, you can also see where accessible toilets and changing places are located. Accessible Derbyshire provides information about accessible accommodation, transport, and things to do.

To keep up to date with special events, visit the Local Offer - Latest page.

You can find information on Short Breaks for children and young people, including those with complex needs.

Derbyshire's It's About Me holiday activity and food programme offers a range of school holiday activities for children and young people across Derbyshire. The sessions are free for families who claim benefit related free school meals and are provided by a range of local organisations and groups. Free places may also be available to children in vulnerable groups, including children with special educational needs (SEND), who are not currently in receipt of free school meals. A small fee may be applicable for other applicants.

The National Trust has created '50 things to do before you're 11 and 3/4' to encourage families to play in nature together and build an enduring connection with the natural world. See the list of activities, including things to do in winter and when it's raining, and also safety information for when you are out and about. Activities include building a den, skimming stones, flying a kite, spotting fish, playing conkers and hunting for fossils and bones, and more.

You can also find information on neighbouring Local Offer websites.

Derbyshire Information and Advice Support Service (DIASS) provides independent information, advice and support to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), as well as their parents and carers.
